Weekends

For the record, I thought I'd catch up over the past couple of weekends. Two weekends ago was Stowe Faire (an SCA event). This was notable to me because
a) it was the first major tourney at which I did lists and
b) I got my Award of Arms.

I realise that neither of these two things mean much to those outside the SCA, but it was a most memorable event and weekend for me. One of my friends got her AoA at the same time, so we bonded over being nervous and excited at the same time.

I was pleased that the tourney went smoothly - at least as far as the lists were concerned.

Last weekend was spent partly working on the magazine, but also starting on the numerous sewing projects that I want to complete before Easter. There's not a hope of getting them all done, but I've made a start ( 2 chitons and a full circle cloak). The cloak is a nice heavy wool and somehow, despite being rather heavy still manages to be gloriously sensuous - it feels lovely, but I can't help thinking that the sheer volume of the material adds to the sensuous effect. It moves differently when there is so much of it.
