Managed to slip and fall when going to answer the phone. Landed on hip, and bashed head very hard against the architrave. Hard enough that Styvyn and I both thought that maybe getting a doctor to check it out was a good thing though we thought it would be ok. Waited over three hours in Emergency at Westmead - not that I'm complaining about the wait, I would have been pretty low on the triage list. I did think that, as nothing drastic had happened in that time, it was even more likely to be ok, but then they called me in.

Doctor was nice, also said it seems ok and we left again. Strangely, the thing that's bothering me most at the moment is my hand. I think it got severely jarred and bruised when it got landed on - it's stiffening up nicely. Problem is, I'm not sure I'll be able to drive tomorrow.

Grump, grump, grumpety grump!

At least you guys did the sensible thing & got it checked (despite knowing the wait in store for you) - the first night I arrived in UB, I took a tumble in the shower (D'oh) & badly sprained my left wrist (previously unreported on LJ), which took most of a week to come good. I doubt any doctor (much less one in UB) could have helped but I might have felt better knowing I was doing the best thing for it myself...

Anyway, hope everything comes good for you sooner rather than later - I'll try catching up with you guys as soon as my 'busy schedule' allows (how about ome time next week?)...

Yeah, it was mainly for peace of mind.
I can sympathise with the dilemma about the wrist. Medical problems in out-of-the-way places are a bit of a worry.

Be good to catch up. Some time next week could work.
