elissande | The weekend that was

Good - it was a very pleasant weekend. It had socialising and food and was also productive!
Friday night was Robotech video night at a friend's place. Ok, more for the social aspect than the actual viewing, but it was very pleasant. food was gourmet pizza. And Cascade have brought out their spring limited release beer. It's pretty good, though I think the Autumn Amber is my favourite so far.

Saturday was a jaunt up to the Shire of Dismal Fogs (for the non-SCA people, that's the Blue Mountains) for a tourney and feast. The tourney was pretty small, I don't think Dismal Fogs has a lot of heavy fighters. Four out of the 6 combatants were from Stowe (where I live). Styvyn managed to win the tourney, though it was pretty close. The feasting hall was very well set out and the food was tasty and plentiful. Zara, you'd have liked the marzipan hedgehogs.
There was music and dancing and lots of singing and talking. I was a bit torn at times between the singing and talking. It would be nice to be in two places at once.
Got home and collapsed in a heap at about midnight.

Sunday we continued our hunt for a new bed, and this time we actually made a decision! (I did say it was a productive weekend). It's a fairly long delivery time, so that gives us time to paint the room - at least that's the plan.
