Firstly, huge thanks to
yalovetz and
i_ate_my_crusts for their excellent cat and house sitting while we were away. Errol just yawned and implied "oh, you're back - that's nice." It was hours before she remembered that the cat behaviour guidelines meant that she should have been shirty with us for having gone away. She did sulk later - for about half an hour.
The holiday was great, though it wasn't quite the holiday we thought we were going to have. It turned out to be more of a driving holiday than a walking one. If google maps and your GPS unit both tellyou that it will take you an hour to travel 20 km - believe them! NZ is a seriously scrunched up country.
Anyway, I've put a few photos on my flickr page, a few more of picasa (I'm elissande there as well) and more to go up later. I need t sort through them. In the meantime, here's a cute one from somewhere in the middle of the North Island. We didn't even notice the name of the town, but we did notice the cookie plane.
